The Nun’s Vision
Welcome to Stuffed Stuff, where I plan to explore the display of taxidermy etc. in and out of museums. I’m starting with something I saw yesterday - a piece called Leviathan, by Huang Yong Ping, on display at Nottingham Contemporary art gallery. It’s a truly mind blowing piece of botched taxidermy, which is much bigger than it looks like it should be. I’m not sure what type of animal skin he used, but this sho’ ain’t a real wolf’s head. The Leviathan has been ensnared by a Buddha figure with a crucifix for a hook and a fishing line of happy buddhas. Weirder still, it’s based on a drawing by a medieval nun!

Yeah i saw this its awesome!
